LATE ARRIVING PATIENTS

West Side Family Health Care values the relationships with our patients, guests and staff. We appreciate the busy pace of your lives and respect the fact that your time is valuable. In our efforts to make your visit more efficient, comfortable and to minimize your wait time, our office has updated our appointment scheduling policy regarding “late arriving patients”.

Effective December 5, 2022, patients arriving after their scheduled appointment time will be removed from the daily schedule and rescheduled to another day and/or time. Depending on the chief complaint and the provider’s schedule, the patient may be seen as a walk-in patient later in the day based on acuity and order of arrival. We will try to accommodate late arriving patients as best as possible, but we cannot compromise on the quality and timely care provided to other patients.

Treating both appointments and walk-in patients creates daily challenges for our schedule and wait times. Because of this we often cannot predict the length of wait times. We may suggest returning at a later time to minimize your wait.

If you are running late, please call out clinic at 661-765-1935 so our staff can better prepare for your late arrival and reschedule your visit if necessary.

Why does this matter?

We would like our patients to understand that late arrivals are hurtful in many ways. First, they delay your treatment and our ability to keep your health at optimum levels. Second, they may prevent another patient, who needs treatment, from getting the necessary care in a timely manner. Lastly, missed appointments increase our business expenses which ultimately impact our ability to deliver health care services. With this in mind we want you to be informed of this policy update so there are no misunderstandings in the future.

How early should I arrive for my appointment?

We ask all returning patients to arrive 15 minutes prior to their scheduled appointment to complete all necessary paperwork and update their contact and billing information. All patients scheduled for an initial and annual exam are asked to arrive 30 minutes prior to their scheduled appointment to complete all necessary medical paperwork.

Thank you for your attention to this update and choosing West Side Family Health Care as your health care provider. If you have any questions, please let us know.
